HMDGlobal, the home of Nokia phones, launched the latest addition to the Nokia G-series family, the Nokia G21, in Malaysia for a special pre-order price of just $182 via Shopee. The official retail price of the device is $192.
The G21 claims twice as many security updates as its competitors, up to 3 days of battery life, and a new sleek design that doesn’t compromise Nokia’s renowned durability.
HMDGlobal also commits to regular updates to ensure the device’s longevity, including two years of OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. The phone is an Android 12-ready device out of the box.
Featuring a polycarbonate shell, the G21 is durable and features a 6.5-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, a first for Nokia’s G-series. The screen, however, remains at 720p+ resolution, but this time, it’s capable of streaming Netflix in HD, a first for Nokia’s G-series.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the UnisocT606, a 12nm chip with two Cortex-A75 cores and six A55 cores. Its 5050mAh battery supports 18W fast charging, which HMDGlobal claims can last up to 3 days, especially if you turn on the new Bespoke SuperBatterySaver mode.
In terms of cameras, the G21 has a 60MPAF+2MPMacro+2MPFFDepth camera setup on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. In addition, the G21’s camera utilizes AI imaging and is equipped with advanced low-light imaging capabilities.
Completing its specs list is a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual NanoSIM and a MicroSD hybrid slot that supports up to 512GB of expandable storage, and a fingerprint scanner on the side.
The G21 is available in Nordic Blue or Dusk and only offers 6GB+128GB storage options.
Until March 9, 2022, the device is available for pre-order on Shopee with gifts at a special pre-order price of just $182. From March 10, the Nokia G21 will be available at participating Nokia mobile retail stores nationwide at a retail price of $192.
